Danielle has had a teaching career spanning more than sixty years, including teaching English to migrants, French at VCE, English and French in Israel and Yiddish at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Danielle also taught at Mount Scopus Memorial College in the ‘80s. She has previously been broadcaster and journalist in the Yiddish language program at Radio SBS in Melbourne and in 2011 was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to education, women and community. She is the recipient of the General Sir John Monash Award for Outstanding Service to the community, the Sylvia Gelman Award for excellence as an educator and the Victorian Refugee Recognition Award. Danielle spends lots of her time and energy being involved with her extensive family, being grandmother to her twelve very fine grandchildren.
